SL55 ABC TO COILOVERS CONVERSION PROJECT
Hey guys,
Now that I have found that there is a series of SL500 which came with COILOVERS in Germany in 2008, I found Bilstein kit that fits the SL55.
I found the struts, now I'm searching for the springs that will make the proper height of the SL55. But guys I need your help to find SWAY BARS that fit the SL55, I have read a lot that to convert from ABC to COILOVERS we need sway bars, but doesn't our SL55 already have sway bars?
Which sway bar will fit my SL55? Will the CLK55 or C55 sway bars fit?
Thank you in advance for help

I thought both the SL350 base model in Europe and the SL65 Black Series (although a very different setup) both came with standard coilovers.

I was amazed to see that kit, since months of reading led me to believe no one gave it a try yet...
And no, they dont come with sway bars (passive body control) because we have abc (active body control)

This coil-over conversion is very interesting as it also includes sway bars and a power steering pump. Cost is $2,500 plus $1,500 installation (there is also a refundable core charge).
Guy is in Florida, is an ex Mercedes tech and I believe conversion is based on the European SL350 and uses parts from that vehicle (sway bars, etc.). This is the site :

P.S. Had an email reply from "Rebuild Master Tech" and it appears you only need a Mercedes scanner to remove the ABC option out of the car's computer, following installation.

Any chance someone near Rebuild Master Tech, at 920 SW 2nd Place, Pompano Beach, FL 33069, could look in and do some research on this option?
We just cannot seem to get anyone commenting on their experiences with this conversion.
Many thanks, in anticipation.......Geo.

I just emailed them directly and asked if they'd come on the forum and answer some questions. Lets see if they do. We might be able to get in touch with someone that's had this done....
