help programming garage door opener in mirror
I keep trying to set the garage door opener on the mirror to open more than one door by setting each button to a different opener following the directions to do so. however, it will only recognize the last button I set and not multiple. The previous one won't work after the last one is set. Each button can be programmed for a different opener right?
Any help out there?

Yes each button can be programmed. I have one programmed for each garage doorand one for the security gate. You may need to clear out the memory on the other two. I also had to hit the learn button on the garage door unit so it could learn the code, then get in the car and hit the button on the mirror.

The instructions that MB provides are rather worthless when you have a rolling code opener. You easiest way to do it to call 1-800-For-Mercedes and they will connect you with the company and actually walk you through programming the first garage door. You'll just do the same with the other two doors.
Good luck...

I'm using Genie with rolling code. The first time I tried it, I didn't clear the memory in the 55. After a few tries, it was not getting programmed. I decided to start over again and cleared the Homelink memory in the 55. Then, trained it with the Genie garage door transmitter. And last, I pushed the train button on the Genie garage door opener itself and pressed the Homelink button that I wanted to program. Make sure you do it while the train button on the Genie opener is still blinking!

Here is what I remember; hope it's correct.
The car should be outside the garage and you should have a ladder to reach the opener motor.
To starts, press the left and right button at the same time for 20 sec. (until the light flashes (fast?). This erases all previous settings. You only do this one time for all doors...
Take the genie garage door opener remote of the door you want to program and point it to the mirror (only about 1-2 inches away). Press the button you want on the mirror and hold it down. The indicator light should be solid, Now press the garage door remote button and hold it down as well. Hold both buttons down (remote and on mirror) until the light starts blicking fast.
That's step 1.
Step 2. Go to the garage door opener motor and press the Learn button on the back of the unit (could also be behind the light housing). The red light on the unit should go on.
Get back to your car in less than 30 seconds, press the previously configured button and hold until the light starts flashing fast, let go and repeat pressing it again until the flight flashes another 2 times. On the third time the garage door should start moving.
That's it. Do the same for the other two doors (provide you have three inidividual garage doors; always using the corresponding remote for it). Remember never to press the left and right button on the mirror again as you will erase what you just programmed.
Unless my memory failed me, this should work; if not, you may want to have the opener replaced.
Good luck,
Wolfman

Wolfman, you get F.G. Frigin Genius status. I have had my car for two years and with your instructions I was finally able to get it to work. I had a loaner car yesterday and forgot the remote inside. Instead of running to the dealer I was going to attempt for the last time to make the homelink work. It did. Thanks for the great advice. Pat p.s. I used my wifes remote to help set it.

My problem is that I have 3 MB's and I'd like all three to control my 2 garage doors. Whenever I train one car I block out the others. ANyone want to take a stab at this?

I have four MB's and the Homelink system in each MB opens all three of the garage doors so it can be done with patience. I just followed the instructions for rolling code openers in the MB owners manual, which are the same as posted above. The door opener receiver will only work with six openers according to the manual that came with the opener. If a seventh is memorized then the oldest one will drop out. I have the four cars and two openers that came with the openers programmed.

This also happened to me one time. Every time I programmed a new vehicle, it would bump off the wife's car. I found out that the garage door controller has a limit on the number of cars it will let you program. If you've lived in the same house for years and you've gone through 5-6 cars, it is possible that's the problem. I ended up erasing all programming in the garage door and relearned all cars and remotes and it's worked fine since.

Program Homelink to Direct Drive Opener
Program Homelink
On the Mirror
For 3 button with 1 light that can change yellow/green/red colors.
1-hold outer two buttons all the way through the light going from solid yellow, then green, then red, and then out.
2-hold the middle button all the way through the light going from solid yellow, then green, then red, and then out.
3-push each button one at a time to confirm a rapid blinking light when the button is depressed and going out upon releasing the button.
4-push "learn" button on the Direct Drive head unit for one second (this light should be solid red). within 10 seconds push the button in the car on the mirror that you want to use for this garage door. push this button in the car on two seconds, then off two seconds, then on two seconds, then off two seconds, then on two seconds, then off two seconds.
your garage door should now be working from the car's homelink buttons on the mirror. Repeat at each additional Direct Drive opener.

Agreed...clear memories and hit learn button on each garage door opener.
The first one took the longest but the other two went smoothly...I was surprised as it seemed like magic (electronics wizardry).
