SLS Prices
The prices and limited availability make me want to consider buying another one. When I was searching late last year there were about 120 for sale on autotrader and about 100 on cars.com....now there's 48 on autotarder and 39 on cars.com. Lowest prices hit were high $120k/low$130k.

I would say the black series. Look at all the most desirable classics, in general they are the pinnacle of any particular model, along with very limited production numbers.

Drive the **** out of the one you have and, find a mint 2011 Silver/Red Coupe. Best of both worlds! It will have a wider collector appeal and be more iconic then the Blacks in the long run. Store it!

Just looked up the 13 year old BMW Z8 on autotrader and did the math. If the SLS follows the same mark up... ten years from now a MSRP $183K SLS will be sold for around $250K
If you buy one now for $125K.. you'll double your money in 10 years. I don't consider that a good investment in pure financial terms. But you get to drive the thing in the meantime... which alters the equation somewhat.

The Z8 was not a very successful car when it was available. I saw them selling new for way under list for a while. They then became a collector car due to limited numbers sold. The SLS I think will appreciate a bit better than the Z8.
The SLS black will do much better.

Very good article. If you think about it the SLR should indeed be the one to buy. All carbon along with the partnership with an F1 team make it a real super car. I went to the factory to see them being made. It was like a hospital surgery room. The workers had to go through an air chamber and be sterilized to go to work.
I also took it around the top gear test track and at the time is was nothing but mind blowing.

Hmmmm. This is more of a price jump than I expected, this is great news for us...I think I need to find a SLS Black Series, they are getting big money here in Canada right now, a good friend of mine just bought one in June for $385,000. List last year here was $299,000

So after missing out on several during the past month I found one and jumped on it within the 1st hour on ebay yesterday:
500 mile silver over red beauty, the exact combo I was looking for.
I noticed the dealers autotrader ad came up this morning as there is usually a 24 hour delay. So I get a call this morning from the dealer stating they needed to be funded today since there is a line behind me waiting to buy this car. Ebay ad stated I had 3 days to pay, needless to say I wired within 2 hours. Should setup transport next week as I am away on vacation, but at least I can enjoy my vacation knowing I am a proud new owner of a Gullwing.

Wow, fantastic deal for a barely driven car!!
I'm really bummed about the BS going sky high I had the opportunity to pick one up last year for $290,000, but thought "I'll just wait until they drop to about $250k" Boy it looks like I'm wrong!! I was foolishly comparing it to the SL65 BS, which can be had for $165k~. The reality is this car is so much more special and iconic.
