Yes it should have a valve inside that only allows air to flow one way. You should be able to blow through it and not draw air back across.
My fuel hose is full of air, if I loose torque of the filter???
It can by the PCV?
No retour full in THE tank from THE filter ??

Maybe this information will be helpful who have similar problem with M156 6.2 engine
Symptoms:
If the faults codes P0191 P2187 P0451 present, CEL is ON, can be white smoke from exhaust after cold start, no misfiring, engine oil around the PCV Valve, engine oil dipstick popping out, part# A156 010 03 70 must be replaced.

In some cases, it can be the Purge Valve, fault code P0444. Check if it pulsing by holding it, you will fill the vibration if it working good.

Thank you everyone for help!!!
My car turns 70k last weeks, the CEL is on, lots of white smoke and smells like gas. I think I'm going to have the PCV reaplaced.

Question: Are we talking about the PCV valve or hole? When searching for part# A156 010 0370, local MB dealer shows Breather pipe for $97.50 So, valve or hose kit?

I am sorry, I went back to check out the link, PCV valve or breather pipe are the same thing. Thanks.

Do we need to reset the CEL or it will go away by itself?

Replace part, then clear CEL to test if part resolved issue.

If CEL returns wash rinse repeat with assistance of a MB Dealer/ Quality Indy to properly triage the CEL. PCV systems on all motors are fairly easy easy to work on, though this looks to be a little more knuckle dragging than most

I got the error code P0456, not the ones e55igor1 has mentioned. I don't know if I should replace the PCV valve.

"Canister, vent valve, sender unit(s), or gas tank neck"

p0456- I had a lose vacuum line around the rear area driver head light... just go over connections and make sure everything is hooked up...

I took it to the dealer with a screen shot from STAR after they did the gas tank warranty work bc it could have been due to a gas cap/tank pressure issue just to make sure their work was solid...

It actually ended up being a vacuum line off the pump behind the drivers head light... it has a black foam filter that goes around it

just put p0456 into the "search this forum" and you will get a bunch of results... one I used to isolate I think was this one:

I am unsure of the differences btw e55/e63 evap systems... perhaps there is, perhaps there isnt a diff

About a year ago, I got the P2187, it's on twice in a couple weeks period and then it's gone. So you got your gas tank replaced under warranty? I found a doc about MB has extended its warranty to 15 years for the E class model year 2003-2009. Has anyone actually get yours done under this kind of warranty? I don't have good relationship with my local MB dealer. Just wondering should I bring mine in to get checked.

There is a "sticky" about the warranty extension. If you meet certain criteria like US delivery and "smell gas fumes in cabin" you should not have a problem getting the repair/replacement done. But read the thread for all the details.

Update: Called the dealer and told them it smells like gas inside the cabin, they asked for the vin to verify if the vehicle was eligible for the warranty and it was. Brought her in the next day, asked for a loan and came back the next day to pick her up. Now she has the brand new fuel tank and the CEL was clear. Maybe the headbolts issue will be recalled one day?

I have my fingers crossed, but I doubt it. A few bad cases and its given the m156 a rep for it.

Yes, followed your guide, I did find the lose vacum line, reassured it before I brought her to the dealer for the fuel tank. Now the white smoke is gone after the morning cold start. Thanks.
