Carbonio CF Intake Tubes review
I bought these awhile ago but I just havent had the time to post it up.
First impression I got once I opened the box is that they are quality pieces and seem well made.
The installation part did not go as smoothly as I thought. I figured it would take me maybe 15mins per side to get them installed. After all, all you need to do is take the old tubes out and slip these on.
Installation took me about 1 hr. I was having problems with the tubes fitting over the front scoops. They did not slide on easy as I thought. The front opening on the tubes was very tight when trying to put them over the front scoops. I ended up playing and playing with them so a long time and I finally decided to use more force than normal and slide them on. Well the clearcoat on the tubes ended up cracking. They did slide in after that. Maybe since they are handmade (I believe) there may be variances on the openings.
As far as any gains, I did not notice anything while driving around town but if I give it a good amount of gas you hear more air getting sucked in. It seems to pick up faster than before too.
Now on to the pictures !

The OEM tube on the driver's side of our cars has a nice choke point designed into it. The cheap fix for that is to get the intake tube from the S55 without the kink. About $25 from the dealer. Not as bling-tastic as these tubes, but it's more for those not looking to spend a lot.

I heard about the S55 tubes. Maybe I should have bought those.
I paid the new price for these CF tubes which is not bad compared to the old MSRP.

I think you you pay more for the appearance than the actual function. That's not to say it doesn't provide any gains, but these are not a direct comparison to the S55 tube because that provides no visual gain. I think that makes sense....lol

I've been back and forth on these for over a month. If they're yellowing or cracking after a year though, I'm not sure I can justify it.

I have had mine for about a year and while I have no color fade issues, I was very disappointed with how rough the insides were along with there was even big clumps of what seemed like sealer inside.
