MBPartsWorld Accuracy

Is this site accurate?

http://www.mbpartsworld.com/

It lists some part numbers the same for alot of models. For example it says that an E350, E550 and E63 AMG have the same engine control unit. That can't be right, right?

Basically what I'm trying to do is compare part numbers on different models, so basically I want to put 2 models side by side (not literally) and compare all their parts.

I downloaded something called the EPC which was like 28 GB or something. Still haven't gotten around to checking it out but would that have all that info?

EPC is free if you're in the US.

Yep EPC will do it for ya - I assume you have the version that loads in a virtual machine? That's what you need.

Yh that's the one I have. It's three separate files though. I've still not used it.

I want to put 2 Mercedes models and compare all the part numbers for their respective parts. I'm really curious to see the use of different components and modules across models in the same class. Whenever I ask people everybody seems to have an opinion. People seem to think a company like Mercedes would design different modules for an E350 and an E550 or an E63 AMG. Now I understand some modules need to be different and so do alot of components but to say most parts are different shows the person has no concept of good business. It's uneconomical for a car company to design redundant part when it already has them. I get some people asking me if a CLS63 has the same engine as an E63. I always wonder if they actually believe Mercedes would design a whole new engine for each class.

Would that US EPC website give me what I'm looking for or is that something different?

I got the EPC to work and well as the WIS.

Does this catalog contain every single part, EVERY SINGLE ONE?
