BIP tuning

I purchased an E55 a few months ago. It had a couple loose ends that I took care of except for the dreaded stutter (hiccup).... It had the 82mm TB and was tuned but the darn stutter wouldn't go away. It got retuned for the TB but with no luck.. I purchased the star diagnostics, reset all the TB parameters but nothing. I saw lots of good reviews about BIP so I gave them a shot. Spoke with Criag then shortly after received the file from Tony. Installed the tune and the damn stutter is gone!!! I've driven the car for about a week and it's been stutter free. It's a lot smoother thankfully. I gotta thank the guys at BIP. Gotta get tony to come down to Miami and do some dyno tuning. Wondering if anyone is interested?....

Great news. I know how good it feels to finally get a frustrating issue ironed out.

It completely sucks lol. Specially when you've exhausted everything in trying to get it corrected.

That is great news, mine is stock but I think I must be getting the "stutter" as well - it BS driving down low in the RPM's. I get on the throttle just a little & the car feels like its searching for what to do next for 1-2 seconds.

Did you order a canned tune?

I gave them my mods and he sent me a tune based on the info I gave them. There is a cable you need to order and with the program you can upload to your car. There is no handheld that you use just the program and a laptop if that makes sense..

I don't know how pronounced yours is but mine was bad and annoying. From a complete stop it would stutter, then between shifts it would do the samething. At wot it was fine. In sport mode it was even worse.

Mine is a slight 1-2 second hesitation, as if I am disturbing a slumbering gas pedal.

Sounds about the same issue, but it did it even when shifting. At least mine turned out to be tuning..

Mine doesn't do it from a stop, it seems to only occur if I'm cruising along and then open up the throttle a bit, perhaps another 20-30%. Mine may be tuning related as well, as I don't have any CEL's, and the car is well taken care of.

When I did a search lots of things pointed to it being a vacuum leak. When I first checked I found that the stock y-pipe was used after getting the 82mm TB put on. I thought it was that, so I fixed that. Checked for leaks, did a bunch of things and nothing. At the end it was indeed a tuning issue. I honestly didn't think that was the issue but when I used BIP it all went away. I never got a CEL...

BIP doesn’t do tuning. They had tuning in house when Tony worked directly with them. However Tony is no longer with them directly and has RaceIQ instead so contact him via normal channels for RaceIQ.
