Help with B24/15 Rotary Speed and Leteral Accel Sensor Failure

Dad called and said hey, there is some ESP inop I keep seeing and no cruise (he drives 2hrs a day for work on the highway) so I was thinking Steering angle as he as about 120K on his '06 Designo

I scan his car and this sensor pops up as being failed. After research it seems like no one else has had it fail and posted about it in our AMG line. I just wanted to chime in and see if anyone has any experience with this sensor... I dont want to remove the seat un-needly and rip around in the carpet if there is a work around / fix.

Any help with the specific testing method STAR calls for would be great!

Thanks guys

Search yields one failure to note with info:
