Delivery date vs Model Year
Hi All,
If I run the VIN for an E55 and find the 'delivery date' is early November 2004, is this car regarded as being a 2004 or 2005 'model year' car?
Is there anything that changed in the 2005 cars that I can look for?
THANKS!

I think 05 and 06 have a bigger gas tank, something like 21 gallons instead of 17 approximately. But short of filling when nearly empty I cant tell you how to identify the tank size. There are some vin readers here, wouldn't that I'd the model year?

I have decoded the VIN at http://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/mercedes/vin_check
It's a November 2004 build car.
I have just learnt that this option code:
805 YEAR OF MODIFICATION
Means it's a 2005 model year car.
I confirmed this by checking a number of other VINs.
Thanks all
