Buyer Beware or Dealer Scam? Buying an Ex-AMG Driving Academy Car

The AMG Driving Academy is one of the many perks under the umbrella of Mercedes-Benz for those who want to sample the rush of owning an AMG. Those cars eventually get their fair share of abuse, and are eventually retired from servicing egos all across the nation. But what exactly happens to them once they are out of the public eye? Well, according to one MBWorld user, they end up back at a dealership to be purchased by you or me. That is exactly what happened to forum user Betrezra, and ironically, it was one of the cars he’d actually driven at the AMG Driving Academy just a few months prior.

During the time of purchase, the dealership denied any knowledge of it being a former AMG Driving Academy car, despite ghosting on the matte paint where the stickers were, loads of rubber in the wheel wells, and a window sticker showing it was delivered to a race track. Still, it was shown as never titled.

Now, some may question if this has any rarity factor, but let’s be honest, that won’t really overcome the fact that these cars were intended to have the living daylights beat out of them. Do you think the owner has a case, or should he have done a more thorough check on the car before buying?
