It seems that we can finally narrow down the release date for the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain.

According to an Autocar report, the new four-wheel-drive ‘Benz will be launched in October with an expected starting price of $55,490 USD for the entry level model. It seems pretty certain that while the All Terrain will share the same body as the current E-Class lineup, it will also feature a number of unique design elements.

Some of the specifics include more rugged front and rear bumpers with plastic bash plates, additional cladding within the wheel arches, integrated roof bars, and an individual wheel design, as featured in the Autocar rendering pictured above.

The new Mercedes E-Class All Terrain is expected to be offered with a turbocharged four-cylinder, six-cylinder petrol and or diesel model, and a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid as well. The car is also expected to be equipped with Mercedes’ new air suspension system to compete with cars like Audi’s A6 all-road vehicle.
