S213 all-terrain
By comparing the character lines of the W213 sedan with the S213 All Terrain model (shown in the photo), you would see the similarity between the character lines and the cut-line that separates the rear quarter panel from the rear bumper. This new All Terrain is a fine looking machine ! IMO, the rear end is much better resolved than the W213 sedan. Wonder if it will be available in North America ?
By the way, S= wagon and W=sedan for Euro model designation.

Then why do they say that the new car shares elements with the "current" E class. The W213 has only just been unveiled, isn't it? I thought the tail lamp cluster looked more like the W212s than the stardust design of W213.

If anything, especially considering what Audi did with the A4 Avant, if only one car hit the US shores, it'd be this over the standard E-Class wagon. The AllRoad makes it more SUV-like, which is what most Americans want.

Agree with Cliff on this one - consumers want that cross-over look and this helps fit that quite well. Both the E-Class and 5-Series are facing this headwind - consumers just don't want mid-sized sedans anymore when they can fill it with a cross-over or SUV instead.

I like the idea of a S213 All Terain despite it being a blatant rip-off of Audi's Allroad. My ideal would be a E43 All Terrain version. I don't want to fork out the big dough for a S213 E40 err E63, so this could conceivably work for me.
For starters, I'm a wagon nerd and I quite like the new S/W213 interior. A lot. I'm torn on the butch All Terrain ext look over a more conservative straight-up wagon. I wouldn't pay more for the All Terrain than a wagon, but might pick the All Terrain if it were less $.
Thanks for sharing. I didn't hear about this concept beforehand.
