Maybach Officially Dead, Rappers Reportedly in Mourning
It’s officially done. Maybach, Daimler’s attempt at competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce, has officially discontinued all models for 2013. The brand was hemmoraging money. Maybach lost around $500,000 on each car that they sold. Nevermind the cars that sat on the lots because they we’re so incredibly expensive.

To take the place of the now dead brand is the highest level of S-Class: the Pullman. Though not a separate luxury brand like Maybach was, the Pullman will be bigger, longer, and shinier than the run-of-the-mill S-Class. According to Autoblog, it’ll also be available with every line of engine available in the normal S-Class, including the four cylinder diesel.

Still, that means such exercises in excess like the Landaulet are a thing of the past from the brand. Also, Pullman Music doesn’t quite have the same ring to it that Maybach Music does. Maybe Rick Ross’ Rolls-Royce Rhymes would be a better fit… no?

Fine. Bentley Beats it is then.

Head to the forums to talk about Mercedes’ brand gone bad!
