Weistec Tuned AMG GT S Scorches Quarter Mile

The new Mercedes AMG GT S is one of the most powerful, most brilliantly terrifying road cars the company has ever built. Using a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine that produces over 500 horsepower, the car can rocket to 60 miles per hour in mere seconds. It’s lightening quick, and stops like a ton of bricks hitting a wall. But those specs and performance indicators haven’t stopped Weistec, the mad scientists behind all manner of ridiculous AMG builds, from exploring how much they can increase the AMG GT S’ performance.

What we have here is a video, posted by Weistec, as they calibrate the shop’s latest build. The new Weistec-tuned AMG GT S uses a new set of downpipes, a new set of midpipes, a better set of high flow air filters, and a reflash on the ECU. All in all, the car can now achieve a ten-second quarter mile, and crosses the line at 126 miles per hour. And that’s in California heat!

What’s even more impressive is that the car will blitz the quarter mile over and over again without any problem. Check out the video below and tell me you’re not impressed.
