Whether it’s an E-Class, CLK, or even the mighty SL that you’ve been after, you most certainly need some big pockets to score such coveted machines. Or you could benefit from a little something called depreciation.
This Fifth Gear video shows how even the least wealthy of us could possibly score a sweet AMG by looking at previous generations models. Most of these older rides have already depreciated beyond belief. And if well taken care of by their previous owners, they could be much more than just a cheap ride!

Take for example the W210 E55 AMG, with a 5.5-liter V8 that produces 355-horsepower. It can be a heck of a buy if found in decent shape. Furthermore, the video shows exactly what to look for in order to avoid costly surprises.
Of course, the same applies to the beautiful, pillar-less CLK55, and the stunning 476-horsepower SL55 AMG, which was an engineering icon back in its day. Unfortunately, such depreciation doesn’t make the CLK63 AMG Black Series more affordable. Sad.
