Doug DeMuro Buys An E63 Wagon, Immediately Drives 1,200 Miles

What better way to celebrate the purchase of a new AMG Wagon than a long road trip?

Love him or hate him, Doug DeMuro does have decent taste in cars. Case in point: He just picked up a lightly used Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagon. Thankfully, this isn’t one of, as he calls them in his video, “the Doug cars.” This is his new daily, and that means that we should be subjected to far fewer “doing dumb things in a cool car” videos that DeMuro is known for.

Doug DeMuro Buys An E63 Wagon, Immediately Drives 1,200 Miles

This video is actually a good start towards getting us interested in DeMuro’s new car. He explains almost every feature he wanted in a car. Then he outlines the full process that ended with his buying the E63. It’s full of good knowledge that everyone thinking about an E63 should listen to. And then we get to the road trip.

Doug lives on the east coast, but the only certified pre-owned E63 wagon he could find was in Minnesota. Rather than pay fees to get it shipped, Doug just flew in and drove it home. The trip is about 1,200 miles, and it’s our favorite part of the video. See, we’re also big believers in buying a car and immediately taking it on a long journey. It’s a great way to bond with your new machine, and there are things you’ll need from a car on a long trip that might never factor in during short jaunts. In short, it’s the absolute best way to properly test a new-to-you car.

Doug doesn’t give us much info about the trip, promising that we’ll see more in videos later. He does make sure to show off how many times he stops for fuel though, and goes on a nice rant about left-lane hogs.

Overall it’s a pretty standard DeMuro video. If you’re a fan you’ll certainly enjoy it. If you don’t like Doug, it may be a little tedious to watch. Regardless, his new car is one of our favorite Mercedes models. We hope we’ll see more of it later.
