Immaculate 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Cabriolet Hits Auction Block
Classic Mercedes-Benz E320 drop-top was treated to a host of AMG modifications before it was brought to the U.S.
We’ve officially reached the point in time where vehicles from the 1990s have become collectibles. This is no surprise, as those that grew up during the rise of pop culture and the internet have come of age by now and want to relive those glory days. And what better way to do that than with this immaculate 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Cabriolet currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer?
This classic Mercedes-Benz E320 drop-top has remained in the possession of a single family since the seller’s father purchased it new in Springfield, Oregon, and participated in the European Delivery program. The original owner didn’t stop there, either, and had the car modified by AMG in Affalterbach, Germany. Today it has just 45,000 original miles and remains in stunning condition.
The Brilliant Silver Metallic exterior looks simply perfect, in spite of its age, and is accented nicely by a dark blue soft top. An AMG body kit gives the E-Series a sportier look and consists of modified wheel arches, body-color side skirts, and revised front and rear bumpers, though the front bumper and fog lights were later replaced following a parking lot mishap.
Underneath, the E320 was fitted with a Sportline suspension kit and steering box while at AMG, as well as a set of classic 17-inch Monoblock wheels, which are currently wrapped with 225/45 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires.
The interior of this Cab is equally immaculate, with gray leather and wood covering virtually every surface, looking good as new. There is no shortage of amenities either, with goodies including automatic climate control, power-adjustable and heated front seats, and a remote CD changer stashed in the trunk.
Pop the hood, and you’ll find M-B’s familiar 3.2-liter inline-six, which was originally rated to produce 217 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque, which it sends to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. The engine received a comprehensive service recently that included the replacement of the upper radiator hose, cylinder head gaskets, and breather hoses.
This classic beauty sported a rather high original price tag of $75,720 thanks to all of its AMG modifications, and today is a true survivor from another era. With classic good looks and few miles on the odometer, it’s a compelling option for those that love the ’90s and looks destined to rack up quite a few bids before the hammer ultimately falls.
