The Only Lotec C1000 Benz Is for Sale… Again

In internet years, the last time the Lotec C1000 had a steady owner was about 283 years ago. In this post by Jalopnik, dating way back to 2008, the car was for sale in a bit of a decrepit state (not a referral to North Carolina). Incredibly, the asking price has expanded to bewildering proportions; time seems to have done at least one good thing, even if it has sat with a “for sale” sign in its window for that long.

The C1000, for those of you new to this car, was built in the early ’90s when oil money was flowing quite freely in the United Arab Emirates. One of the U.A.E. guys saw a load of that money go his way, decided he wanted to wave the biggest stick, and behold, the Lotec Mercedes C1000 was born. Lotec created the carbon fiber monocoque, and Mercedes provided the motivation in the way of a 5.5 twin-turbo V8. The numerical part of the car’s name comes from a reported 1000nm of power.

How the hell it’s ended up at a Lamborghini dealership’s used car lot is beyond me. But through some research, I found out its been available to purchase for eons. Perhaps the 1.25M asking price is a bit too high? Only time will tell, but for now, this little gem of a Benz needs a home (and I’d be willing to make space if there’s a generous donor out there).
