Mercedes AMG created the GT R Pro to shave seconds off lap times, but that doesn’t mean it can’t look good, too.

The Mercedes AMG GT R Pro was created with one purpose in mind – to go around a track as quickly as possible. And it’s quite good at that, lapping the Nurburgring a full six seconds faster than the standard GT R. This, despite the fact that it uses the exact same powerplant, with the exact same 585 hp output as that “lesser” model. Rather, it shaves seconds thanks to a more rigid, lighter chassis and the addition of a slew of aero components. But just because you own a track-focused car doesn’t mean you can’t also adorn it with a splash of style, right?

Carlex Design, makers of fine interiors for automobiles, boats, and even planes, certainly thinks so. And thus, they’ve derived a very special and limited “Tattoo Edition” version of the Mercedes AMG GT R Pro. It’s an interesting and unique concept for sure, with plenty of “ink” to back up its name. It all starts with the exterior, which wears a host of yellow accents on the wheels, tires, and side mirrors.

A very interesting series of graphics adorns the sides of the track Mercedes model, complete with a trio of skulls. And on the front fenders, you’ll find a bit of a ghosted Carlex Design graphic. It’s quite a sinister look, befitting of a sinister car like the GT R Pro. And the added graphics certainly pop coming off a muted yet attractive silver base.

That theme continues to the interior. There you’ll find yellow stitching throughout, along with a yellow steering wheel center stripe, seat belts, and another strip on the passenger side of the dash. Alcantara covers a good portion of the insides, including the steering wheel, headliner, and parts of the door panels, dash, and seats. And speaking of the seats, they carry on the tattoo theme with engraved skulls and even flowers. And of course, more than one Carlex Design graphic to remind you who created this artwork.

Whether or not Carlex’s unique styling package reflects your own personal taste, well, that’s for you to decide. But we certainly give them props for doing something truly unique. After all, when was the last time you saw a tattooed car? Let alone one that doesn’t look like a bad reject from the True Religion design studio?
