New 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Spied!
Even though 2014 doesn’t seem that long ago, we’re already seeing spy shots of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which will be all new. Thanks to our friends at Motor Authority, we now have a great idea of what the new car is going to look like, both inside and out. We even have the video below to share with you all!
The new E-Class will be built on Mercedes’ modular MRA platform, which is also what underpins the latest-generation C-Class. This platform will ensure that the new E-Class is lighter, more efficient, and more rigid than the current model.
Another benefit of the MRA architecture is the support for tons of autonomous driving features. Expect to see Merc’s latest and greatest when the car hits dealerships, including an autonomous remote parking feature that we’re eager to try out.
Much like the C-Class, we wouldn’t be surprised if the new E-Class eventually included a bunch of variants, including a coupe and convertible model. Since the C-Class has become so upscale with the latest generation, expect the coupe version of the E-Class to be at another level entirely. That’ll be impressive, since the C-Class is more-or-less a mini S-Class now.
We expect the new E-Class to be revealed in the cold of winter at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and to go on sale at some point later next year.
