Photos of the Week: Mode Carbon Project 507
This week, we shift into carbon mode; well, Mode Carbon, rather. Their build dubbed as “Project 507” has caught my attention, and for once I can be certain I’m not alone (the voices in my head notwithstanding).
Their goal was to take an “ordinary” C63 Sedan and transform it into a major source of revenue for the neck brace industry. Thus far, my shares are up.
To achieve this capitalist goal, they started out with, well, a lot of carbon – carbon hood, front spoiler, mirror housing replacements, rear diffuser and trunk lid spoiler. The next step was to take care of the footing, so HRE R43 wheels in a satin-black finish were fitted and wrapped in Michelin Pilot SS tires.
Of course, the engine saw lots of attention with a Eurocharged V5 tune and X-pipe, as well as a resonator and secondary cat delete.
The cake was then iced with a dividend’s worth of gloss-black accents, and the Edition 507 vinyl stripe.
The attention this car has gotten is noteworthy. Interspersed you’ll find three separate photo shoots from Toronto to NYC. Someone even said that a new M3 managed to make its way into one of the photos, but I haven’t noticed anything.
