SLS AMG Black Series Spy Shots!
For bit of emphasis on that last point, just look at the rear tires. It’s easy to get caught up on the camouflaged body work and completely ignore the whopping rollers this thing has. I’m assuming they’re still being driven by 6.3L V8 in the SLS AMG GT but… Part of me hopes that AMG uses the SLS to showcase their new ownership of the Mercedes’ V12 business. The V8 is a strong engine, no doubt, but it’s difficult to see how they might wring more power from it without adding boost. In fact, the E-Cell is a more powerful car that goes for the same price as the SLS AMG GT. A V12 Black series would set the hierarchy straight.
Also, what the heck happened to the SLS’ rear diffuser? In these pics, it’s flopping around like it got caught on a parking brick. The front end is far more aggressive than the GT. It’s pointy-er at least. This is still camouflage so it probably wont look exactly like that in the final version. I think the Black version’s styling could use a little bit of toughening up. A little bit less 300 SL and a little bit more SLR is in order.
