Stolen Mercedes-AMG GT S Takes Another Beating

First It Gets Stolen. Then the GT S Gets Dropped by the Tow Truck Returning It to the Dealership

Ever heard the saying, “Nobody is going to treat your Mercedes as well as you do”?

Okay, so maybe we did just create our own spin on a few phrases there. But it’s certainly a good takeaway from the video clip below. Actually, we could come up with few more slogans about this incident, but those wouldn’t be safe for work. But they’d all be words of caution to anyone entrusting the care of their Mercedes-Benz to a second party.

The entire incident started after a group of thieves stole a 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S from a dealership in Illinois, along with a few other high-end vehicles. Sure, you’d hardly expect a thief to treat a vehicle with respect — even if the vehicle is priced at $107,990. But you would expect a tow company charged with returning the Mercedes to the dealership to treat it with a little more decorum.

No luck here, though. In fact, it sounds like most of the damage done to the GT S came from the tow truck unloading the vehicle back at the dealership, and not by the thieves who stole the car. It’s a scary thought for anyone who has ever paid to have their car shipped.

In the case of this scary towing incident, it looks like the culprits might have actually been working for the local police authorities. That even further highlights the idea that, “nobody is going to treat your Mercedes as well as you do.”
