Looking at these spy shots, it appears a UFO has fallen into the laps of Mercedes-Benz engineers, and some reverse-engineering is afoot. OK, a more likely explanation is that this is a concept car that will be making the rounds this auto show season.

The official design sketches of the upcoming S-Class Coupe concept were released by Mercedes-Benz into the internet recently, according to a report on caradvice.com. The release comes prior to the official launch of the vehicle at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
One of the images showed the front three-quarter portion of the upcoming two-door luxury concept vehicle. The design of the upcoming vehicle showed little similarities to the S-Class sedan that was recently introduced by the company.

A collaborative effort between StudioTorino and Mercedes-Benz resulted to a distinctive conceptual model of the Mercedes-Benz SL Class. The design was the result of work by design students from Italy who were able to utilize their skills on the luxury vehicle.
