so this confirms refresh is coming for 26, and that we get not only the "star'ed" taillights, but also "star'd" headlights. Thats over the top IMO, although it doesnt stand out on the E Classes I have seen. Thats obviously aimed to China.
Unfortunately no interior shots

Wait... they are not hiding a another star in the taillight under the camouflage where the boot lid is right? That might follow the tradition of S-Class has 3 (ie. headlight strips W222) but in the case of stars now.

hmmmmm. that grille has definitely *looks* like it has grown as it now dips into the lower fascia. i wonder if the image that was downloaded on the 222 forum (placed below) of what the artist's 223 refresh rendition looks like is maybe indeed close given how large the grille looks to have grown in these spy shots?????

Back in the good ol’ days when America was MB’s biggest market, they designed cars aimed at our wants and needs and we got cars like the R107. Now that they’re Chinese owned and that China is their biggest market, they cater to them. What results is these questionable design touches aimed at a more ostentatious audience. Just a sign of the changing times, but I have faith they’ll get it right… hopefully

Good grief. They had to one up the new E class and add “star” headlights in addition to the taillights. Gaudy.
The S class defined understated luxury without being pretentious. This flies directly in that face. I’m really curious about the interior changes and if they eliminated the ski jump screen.

If you look at the direct front pictures you don't see the gauge cluster screen standing up, so my guess is they have redone the dash

That said, it is usually the good things about their concepts they don't bring to production, the concept EQS looks much better than the production EQS.

One can only hope that the bulk of engineering assets thrown at the refreshed 223 were aimed at the numerous problems with the cars, not the asthetics. Hopefully, the ride quality issues will be dealt with, automatic doors would be a huge help, the ever present “low battery” gremlins should go away—I won’t go through the whole list again. That said, I thought the W223 was a nice looking car, if lacking the elegance of the two previous models. What I see in these spy shots, makes me think that the new look is pushing further away from understated elegance, rather than embracing it. Oh well.

swell. thank you, dima! good stuff! not significantly different (exteriour) than current. maybe the engineers heard streamliner and are concentrating on interiour and excellent functionality!

2024 was the first model year with the power boost, though I think those S500s have only been on sale for about two months at this point.

That second render looks plausible. That grill is bigger than I think it will be...than I hope it will be...
Yet...you ordered a 7 Series...
Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the people who likes the 7 Series, but the 7 Series doesn't have an "understatedly elegant" bone in its body. Its all flash and attention grabbing lol

Are they REALLY going to do that to the taillights? I feel that plastering the “star” all over the place is tacky, gauche and decidedly low rent. If they feel that they need this “in your face” crap for China, they could easily give the rest of the world plain taillights.

This rendering reminds me of the butt ugly Bimmer 3 and 4 series buck toothed squirrel grilles. I do take this rendering with a grain of salt sine it is clearly a rendering. I'll reserve judgement until I see an actual car.
