The Future of Vehicles: smart forvision

The new smart forvision will be shown at the 2011 International Motor Show in Frankfurt. With features like carbon-fiber reinforced epoxy resin, solar cells and infrared-reflective heat shield, it really sounds like the future is here.
The car, which is a ‘joint vision’ between BASF and smart, has
“developed a holistic concept for sustainable urban mobility”. The car
is energy-saving as it can get light from the transparent roof, which is
also quite unique looking. Other than that, the photovoltaic
technology helps in generating energy for the car to move, and also to
keep the car’s temperature in check.
The design of the smart forvision is so great that it might take some
time before other brands can follow suit. The pearl white finish of the
car is enhanced by the safety cell in copper liquid metal paint, which
can then lighten or darken depending on the viewer’s perspective.
Additionally, the paint includes an extremely scratch resistant coat. The
side doors are also very attractive, made of a special plastic in
three-dimensional form.
Meanwhile, the interior of the vehicle is especially upholstered with
a tone-in-tone design. The dominant color is white and the inner part
of the instrument panel is in liquid copper. The steering wheel, is also
white, but is semi-transparent when switched off. And when the ignition
is turned on, the cockpit information can be seen on the transparent
surface with touchscreen switch.
The battery-run vehicle is truly a car of the future. With its
temperature management, futuristic design and energy efficiency, no
doubt that everyone will get excited with the smart forvision.
