Widebody Time Attack Mercedes-AMG GT R

Someone should build this outrageous rendered body kit for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R!

MBWorld  outrageous Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R  and it’s just too wild not to share. Stumbling across it, I fell down the rabbit hole into the world of automotive renderings. I know about in game renderings – every car themed game offers them. But a whole other virtual realm of artists exists that I never knew about. Unconstrained by the in-game limitations, these artists create everything from mundane recreations of every day vehicles to incredible feats of imagination. It reminds me of graffiti in the best sense. It’s colorful and unique, like each artist. Also like graffiti, you can argue if automotive renderings are art or not. But that is of little importance because the renderings exist for their own sake and the enjoyment of their creators.

Such is the Time Attack AMG Mercedes GT R created by Sean Demetros. Someone described this rendering as a Mercedes-Benz GT R embodied by World War II fighter plane. The GT R’s grille, framed by a large front spoiler/splitter looks like the front end of a vintage fighter or cruise missile. It just needs some nose art, something like the the angry eyes and shark teeth of a P-40 Warhawk.

The rear includes a large diffuser that offsets a massive rear wing. The outrageous aspects are offset, even muted because of the dark grey color. Taken as a whole, The Widebody Time Attack Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R looks combat ready and primed for flight. It’s purposeful, like something out of a post-modern science fiction film or a Death Race movie.

But more impressive is how Demetros developed this rendering. On his demetr0s designs social media account, he explains this was his first attempt at creating a 100 percent bespoke widebody kit. He designed it with no prior reference to the AMG GT R. This makes it more incredible because the whole rendering is so cohesive. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R’s proportions look spot on. The fender flares appear to reduce the length of the long hood. The six-spoke wheels are subtle on this design, offsetting the wild nature of the front and rear end.
In addition to the Widebody Time Attack Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R, Demetros created a graffiti-bombed Type 1 VW Bug and an Aston Martin DB5 crashing into a swimming pool. Renderings, graffiti, art or not, I can’t wait to see his next project!
