Chris,

1. The vacuum adjustment feature is nice, but isn't a MUST unless you travel on rural country roads, often have heavy loads in the rear seat/trunk, etc.

2. You pry open your existing 4-pin connector and rearrange the pins into the new 6-pin connector. I can find some instructions somewhere, if you need them.

3. Those headlight harnesses from Importvision aren't necessary unless you are running overwattage bulbs.

4. Make sure you aim the lights properly. Check out the aiming procedure at http://www.danielsternlighting.com

5. Once your new headlights are installed and aimed properly, prepare to be amazed at the new light output.

PIAA's are the way to go, forget about all the other cheap stuff. They'll end up melting your plugs..

Thanks for the info! I'll probably order them from Ebay, if the dealerships can't come through or if some people I know who have extra's dont come through. Isn't 15 bucks for them slightly expensive?

PIAA's are the way to go. So I take it that they won't be a problem with high wattage issues and what not? I learned the hard way and purchased some cheap *** 9004 bulbs and they melted my plugs...

Anyways, Ordered those headlights, the payment is awaiting. Dang dealing overseas is so complicated.

PIAA's are not the way to go. Osram (Euro version, NOT the US Sylvania version) Silverstar and Narva Rangepower bulbs are.

Read up on that here: http://danielsternlighting.com/tech/...blue/blue.html

thanks for the info Frank, you're a good newbie. Anyhow, I'm looking for the paint code for my 1990 300E though. I don't know what shade of white it is.

Tony says our white cars from then was called Superior white, then again I didnt find that on the website frank gave me in the list of mercedes paint codes. Can someone find me a numeric code for the color and perhaps a paint website where I can custom order a spray can.

chris the paint code should be on the plate by your radiator.

Then contact tower paint. www.towerpaint.com and you can order the original color in a spray can to paint the wiper filler panels.

Then clear coat them

Hmm...I took a look Ashman and there was several codes and I couldn't figure out which one it would be.

Anyways, can anyone confirm that the white MB used on my car was Superior White or a different one. When I find that out then I can go forth and find out the paint code.

They could be ok. the look different than mine as far as the back cover of them. mine the lid coms off in one piece it is not split in 2...

You will have to check to see fi they fit the headlights when you get them...

guys.....what's the difference they're all good. it don't matter if they split in two or open in three or four pieces they're used to hold the pin. BTW. So, Chris you've got the connectors... how long do you have to wait for the headlights now, buddy? How long has it been already?

Yeah, I was researching and they are basically the same thing. Except the ones with the removable cover are more "heavy duty."

I got all the parts and I'm pretty much ready to install. Headlights should come within a week or two and I'm not in a rush to get them like you were Gorbettteam. Since it is afterall coming from Germany on standard shipping. 4-6 weeks is normal shipping time.

i wish i would of browsed these forums a while ago. i have euro lights with a mercedes hid kit. it was like $700 with everything. the shop i do computer work for put them in with my help for free. whats funny they even come with the little goofy light right below the h4 for daytime driving in europe.

without the hid and the sidemarkers its around 300-400 i think.

well if you want to convert them to HID it takes a few hours but it is worth the expense and time. the difference between the 2 is litterally night and day. with the stock h4 its barely enought light to see your garage door. however with a diffused HID kit the lighting in insane.

The guy that did mine is in pasadena... www.importaw.com i was there yesterday and they were switching HID lights with projectors from a newer SL to an older one. they also did a lame 500e convertible conversion; but that is for a different thread.
