Talking Evo 3

Mercedes did actually produce an EV0 3 for the 1994 DTM season though this car unlike the EVO I and EVO II never made it to road production the picture below should be able to show the wider arches and bumpers.

I think you will agree that this EVO 3 is slightly better than the Reiger version BELOW

Mercedes did not produce road going versions of those cars because they were purpose built racers produced by AMG under new rules for the DTM series, promulgated in 1993. Prior to that there was only one class for the cars, which required the 500 production units per year. In 1993, the rules allowed a "Class 1" car following the FIA Touring car regulations. That effectively ended the need to produce qualifying road cars. Like a NASCAR stock car, the rules allowed extensive modifications to the chassis and bodywork including the use of alternative materials in the construction. Features such as active suspension, traction control, ABS and computer controlled steering were all permitted. Therefore, there were no "Evolution III" cars.

Cool cars!!

Too extensive tho not my cup of tea but at least we all know now there was an EVO III.

Any info on engine mods done to them?

Somehow the beauty in these EVOs were never produced on the newer Mercs of today.
