No Spark Situation after 5spd conversion
Well, I managed to find a 5spd setup and went ahead and swtiched out my automatic.
Car was running before the swap. 2.3L
Is the Flywheel sensor for the 5spd different from the automatic? if so, i beleive this is my problem, because the 5spd tranny did not come with the sensor for the flywheel
If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it

The flywheel sensors should all be the same; they have all been superceded by a single new part.
What year and model car did the flywheel come out of? The "tabs" along the edge of the flywheel need to match up as far as size and placement. For the 2.3, I think you need 2 tabs, exactly opposed to each other. If the manual trans flywheel has different tab setup, your ignition controller won't send anything to the coil.
If the flywheel is from another (newer) 2.3, another possibility could be that it's tabs are actually hitting the flywheel sensor, in which case you'll need to get a spacer, and possibly shave the spacer a few mm's, to make your ignition controller fire up the coil.

I did all the work myself, except for the bit about shaving the spacer for the flywheel sensor. My cost ended up (roughly)
$800 for the donor car and paperwork
$100 for the flywheel, b/c the donor was a 2.3
$250 or so for a new clutch disc and pressure plate
Plus a bunch of little charges for stuff like new trans mounts/flex discs/etc.
The shop took a couple of hours to figure out the deal w/ the spacer.

Yup, it's a much better drive in all situations - even in traffic (used to it). Do you plan on going after the close-ratio Getrag gearbox out of the 16v, or the overdrive trans out of a 8v/2.6/w124?
