AMG Wheels, 190 and offsets...
I just purchased some wheels - they are AMG part number 201 400 13 02 - 7J 15 ET 25... so, they are not correct for my car. I made a mistake. They guy had them on a 190E 2.6 and I assumed he knew what he was talking about...
I basically understand the concept of offset (my question below may indicate otherwise however), and the wheels don't rub anywhere... they just look a little hoonish on my innocent looking benz.
Can they be modified to an offset of 31? or 35?
Does anyone want to part exchange these for a set of AMG wheels that would fit my car?
Rodney
How don't these fit your car? Is it because of lugs? the distance they stick out from the fender?

one thing I didn't mess up is the offset, which is ET25...
they look like the single wheel (not the ones with brakes) in 190 Limited Edition's post referenced above...
my car is as straight as a die, with full log books, no rust and just really really nice... I get one serious car allowance as part of my package, so I plan on lowering it gently... and popping some nice 205 rubber underneath as and when things require replacing. I'm more into handling than power, so two litres is fine... if I wanted more power, I would probably buy an 2 year old S320d... they are pretty cool... and I think they are built for life (or almost)
had a chat with a guy who can add positive offset by reducing the depth of the hub, to take it to 31... but that's still too small I guess to accomodate 205 tyres...
anyway - sorry for the confusion - some of you guys that reply to posts are real, total legends! Cheers!
PS - my Dad has owned a 190 since new...

Here is the blurb from each wheel:

Anyone know what they were originally intended for? They are wearing 185 tyres which accounts for their kerbed appearance... I don't think the correct rubber for a 7" rim would fit under the standard 190E guards. With the 185 rubber they stuck out a bit on my standard arch 190E.
I've just bought a set of ET44 standard 15 hole alloys... they fit nicely! The AMG wheels are up for grabs!
