Unfortuately, bolt-on mods don't do sh*t for an NA car. You need to go through all the traditional hot-rodding techniques to get any decent amount of power-gians:
- big-bore pistons
- high-compression (12:1 on 95-98 octane)
- high-lift, long-duration cams
- 4-1 long-tube headers
- MAF-conversion
- EFI system upgrade to standalone (MOTEC, TEC, AutoTronic, etc.)
All of this will be custom of course and will require finding a shop with the expertise and experience to be able to do it.
Another idea is turbo-charging. Again, a custom kit needed as you'll need new intake & exhaust manifolds. Programmable EFI would definitely be a requirement.

by the way, a 3.0 from a 300e is the same engine, same everything. Take yours out, put that in and bam like 20 horsies. Start from there and move on with turbos and the such.

I agree with Danno on his suggestions and MTI on changing the trans. These aren't the normal Supras or Skylines which have endless aftermarket components and bolt-ons. Even tho I have the 2.5-16v, I still think they're not enough for me. AMG and Brabus are already into turbos and superchargers as that's the only way a Mercedes can get more power compared to BMW and Audi (who makes awesome engines since last year!) Despite piston or crank changes, seems like turbos / superchargers is the answer. Besides Brabus and AMG, there's also Kleemans, just to show that they all rely on supercharge/turbo. I've always preferred NA now am already thinking of changing it to a 5 litre engine (once the funds comes in of course!)
Check out the site below, this guy slapped on a supercharger on his 2.4 litre and out comes 240hp! Simple but effective! That's horsepower per litre!

Either that or do a custom job on getting an AMG engine and putting it in :p . Both have it's advantages...
