How to fix the dimmer switch.

Like many other owners of older MBs I have to deal with the little minor things that tend to go wrong with these older cars. It's cool, it comes with the territory. Anyway, I would like to know if anyone knows how to fix the dimmer switch for the interior lights.

It's an old fashioned rheostat that's part of the instrument cluster. Remove the cluster, remove the part, shoot it with contact cleaner and hope for the best. It might be a better idea to just replace it.

I was hoping you weren't going to say that. They are bloody expensive!! I'll see what I can do to clean it. Sigh! I might just have to get used to the darkness.
