Catalytic converter
So, If i remove mine will there be any problems?
Ive read that the ehaust will get louder. But I should get some off the line hp gain? Someone said like 20hp. I doubt that. But mosr responsive off the line would be nice. I get smoked by 100hp pick up trucks. Its sad.
Will I see a change in anythign else? gas? overly loud crappy sounding exhaust? Anything with the 02 sensor? Do I have 02 sensors?lol
Does anyone have this done?

There's no way you'll gain 20hp. Also the programming of the ECU is with the added resistance of the catalist taken into account. It'll be trying to compensate (I dunno to which extent) after you remove the cat. and I don't think it's wise to do that to an almost 15 y/o car...

Dude, i really don't care what you do short of swapping your engine tranny and diff. Your not gonna beat much off the line.
These cars are not geared for low end take overs. High end is what these cars are made for.
Ever seen a 190 drag car? Or have you seen 190 track cars?

Yea these cars suck off the line. Its rather sad.
I got this idea from 190rev. I like that site. It has alot about this car on it.
I don't have an ECU as far as I've been told. So I don't know if the back pressure will make a difference. I'm probably not going to do it. Ill see what my mechanic says. He will tell me if its a good/bad idea. I just wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with it. Everyone on the 190rev seems to really like the sound and high end performance it gave them.

I have gutted pre-cats and cat. I have noticed an improvement in acceleration due to the engine rev'ing more freely. Air flow will improve without the cat. Don't worry about back pressure since a properly working cat will flow pretty freely. When I gutted mine they were clogged and I basically freed up the HP that was lost due to poor airflow through the exhaust system.
