Hi gang new here! So i';m here looking for info on 2.3 16v

I'm looking to buy one and there are 2 local to my area one has not run in 1 year and say it needs a bat and maybe a solenoid? I also here there is problem with timing chains?

Man, sounds like a rough way to start a relationship with a 16V...we're all in different situations, money wise, time wise, etc. I wanted a 16V but waited to find one that was straight, if you want one for a nice price but then have a lot of work to do then go for it, but knowing what I know about these cars its not the way I'd start off.

on a side note i am very good at doing tech work so getting the car running should not be a big deal to me but i don;t know all the little things i should be looking for you know like odd fuses and what not I just think this car has a dead battery! and the guy has his dad selling it for him! cuz he's out of state

Sorry I cannot help you with details, but at least I'll bump your post

I see you do have another ride, so I guess that if you end up buying a project that would be OK. The questions is, regardless of if 2500 is good, how much more are you willing to put into it?

2.5K sounds like a bargain to me, for a car that only needs a new battery. So either you'll be getting a great deal, or a lemon. Could you not boost it and drive it to a local mechanic for a second opinion? That's what I've done in the past, except for the one I just bought since it came from a Merc mechanic.
