Steering
Hi again, I've spent the afternoon reading threads (I'm new here as of today). Lots of awesome information here... I can relate to a couple of you MB 109E owners out there in that I am a musician too. Been playing guitar in a rock band for many years now ('71 Telecaster - Red, '71 Fender Super Reverb Silverface 4 x 10's).
Back to my car. I'm having a problem with the steering on my 1984 190E 2.3. It "wanders". The tie rods are new and it had an alignment not long ago (before I bought it). I've hear there is an adjustable screw on the steering box to rid it of "looseness". Think that's it??

First, the 190E isn't the best car for musicians . . . the high liftover for the limited size trunk makes it a pain to load up. Not much room in the backseat area either. 
Second, the adjustment on the steering box is to reduce the amount of "free play" in the steering wheel, which the manual says should not exceed 25mm of arc distance.
If there is more, then the areas to check are the steering linkage, steering arm, steering gear and the amount of bearing play at the front axle.
