Exclamation Emergency question

A friend's 2.3 has had a belt (rad/generator) go. Neither him nor I have tools on hand, so have to drive ±40 Km. to the mechanic. Does the old ladies' nylons trick work? Can I use something else on a pinch?

I was planning to try a bikes inner-tube as I have a few around, but thought to ask in case you guys have an idea

The only tools you need are a 13mm and a 17 or 19mm sockets.

Nylons work

Helped a guy out with his vette,he laughed when i told him what to do.He stopped laughing when he called me from his home and he had made it there with not a problem.Drive slow, have more then one pair on hand and check every few miles.
