Decipher Noise please????
190E Automatic trans 1991.
Funny noise...sarting in the morning, cool weather. The automatic shift when put in drive rattles, sounds like something is loose. I need to keep my hand on the shifter and shake it while I am driving as it sounds like something is loose below the console.
I park it while I am at work, 65 degrees in the afternoon sun. Drive it home and there is no noise. The transmission drives smooth. The car has on 87k for a 91.
Heat shield? it sounds temp related as it does not make the noise after the car is outside in the sun and weather is warmer....
damndest thing.. anybody ever hear of something like this?
