Automatic transmission question.
i have messed with other turbo cars (mazda's,honda's) there pretty tough when it comes to forced induction on stock parts. how would the 2.3 litre motor and auto tranny hold up to either turbo or supercharger?
i imagine the super chager would be easier on parts than a turbo but what kind of hp could i see from a stock motor with a supercharger
ive seen some people on here that look like they have a stock mercedes supercharger off another car on these engines what year and model and car does the charger come from and are they using stand alone or just bigger injectors on stock fuel system and ecu??
just wondering im new to mercedes and want to see if i can do a project like this before i buy the car...
my idea to turbo was to buy a used ihi vf-40 turbo and use a stock exhaust manifold as my turbo manifold just cut the stock one off so the turbo flange would be parrallel with the ground and put the turbo on that way.
and maybe up the injector size and fuel pump to compensate for the extra air. hopefully i could run 5-10 psi of boost without having to go standalone on the fuel system.
hopefully i could find a place to retune the stock ecu chip for boost or something.
just some ideas im throwing around in my head.
figure i could do the turbo setup for less than 500 dollars doing all the work myself and idk how much the fuel side would cost but i think i could achieve decent power for less than 1000 dollars.

5 psi of boost is going to get you around 225 bhp, is going to require extra fuel otherwise you're going to fry valves. The auto trans, if in pristine condition, is probably good to 275+
I have thought about putting one on my 87 but I don't want to do all that work, I would rather just do a full engine swap.

I wonder if a 722.5 would bolt on to a M102???
i thought about this while i was up sick all night...
i have a turbo kit for a gsxr1100 i could possibly saw off the intake manifold on this car so that the throttle bodies from this kit will fit on it then put the plenum on the throttle bodies.
could also use the fuel side ecu side from this kit to control the efi(has 400cc injectors).
idk if it would work with stock ecu but it was just an idea.
then that would solve my fuel and intake problem plus it would awsome to have itb's and efi with a turbo on a car...
idk just spit ballin here...
i just sold a turbo mx6 i had and im addcited to forced induction now lol...
i am wanting to install a 12" or 15" kicker solobaric sub in that whole and then build the box under the rear deck but i need to know how big the whole is before i can buy the sub.
i dont think i will be buyin his kit i dont have alot of money and no way will i send my money and wait for that long...
and that post about the rear deck doesnt tell me the size. i guess a 15" will fit back there i will run it off a 1000 rms watt kicker amp
