mod suggestions for 88 190e 2.3

I've had my car for about a year now... and after seeing all of your wonderful 190's i need some mods, what mods would be a great investment for my baby?

what i have on mind is:

  • H&R sport cup suspension kit
  • 17" Borbet Type LS
  • Boot wing (rear spoiler)
  • euro lights
any suggestions? this is my car before the tints

Suspension and lights are a good idea. Suspension is a great idea if you actually need it replaced anyway.

Rims and tires are good. Are you an aggressive driver or just going to looks?

Tint the windows. You could black out the rear lights. Upgrade the grill. Fresh paint. You can debadge. New cd player/media center with new speakers speakers. These are all just basic mods to give you some idea's. I dont agree with all them for your car. but its up to you as the owner. Go through the picture thread and look for some idea's.

i already have a new head unit

2 amps 2xkenwood i think 6.5" in the rear

a west coast custom box of 12" subs in the back ((that take all my trunk space )) no pic yet {{my trunk is a mess right now }}

and i do have tints, i have %25 in the 3 rear windows and %35 in the front ones.

I think i would consider myself an aggressive driver.... especially here in NYC!!! I hate dumb drivers

i love the smileys.... can u tell

I forgot you had the subs and speakers. I got my 190 owners confused.

If you have tint and a stereo. The rest is just paint, rims, susp, head lights, new grill. Things like that. If you are an aggressive driver, you might want to look into a high performance tire, but since you have the 2.3 and I dont think you take turns so sharply you need ultra high end. Good year has a nice tire out, its called the direzza. Or something to that extent. They basically produced it for "street racers" on a budget. There are around 150 each I think. Great tire for the price.

If you want some neat stuff to do just for fun, you can install fog lights, get LED's for your rear lights off ebay, Get puddle lights to work with your keyless entry, get keyless entry lol Things like that. Remote start as long as you ALWAYS leave your car in N.

i was thinking about the fog lights at the bottom bumper... i do have a prestige key-less starter, and i always leave my car on neutral i don't get why people leave their car in gear when its manual trans, that is why we have the e-brake.... but w/e, anywho....

what are puddle lights?

my tires a fairly new they are cooper tires i think... don't remember.
I do want that new suspension tho and my euro lights, and yes the grill as well, i was thinking of avantagarde S600 grill its on ebay for less then $100 and there is a place in Long Island that samorises and waxes the whole car for $300 i think it was.... i think that is all for now, until i find other things to add to it

at one point i thought about shaven door handles, but if i do that, that would be in about a yr or so... i want my suspension and euro lights with an HID upgrade that my audio/alarm guy does for $175 for everything.

in the next few weeks i should have euro lights, and maybe grill to start.

Your audio/alarm guy does HID conversion for 175$? Is that possible? Just the products cost more than that! If he can do it, Ill have to drive my to visit some family when it gets warmer and stop in and say hi to your friend

The S600 grill insert if nice. If you search you can see the the grill I bought. Its similar. Looks very nice. I also have blacked out headlights tho. Puddle lights are lights that come on when you unlock your car. They are like under body lights but they are usually white, and don't stay on when you drive. They are installed because it not only looks good, but if you go see a movie and come out, when you unlock your door, if it has rained, you can see if there is a puddle you are about to step in.

the reason you always put your vehicle into gear when parked (manual tranny) is that the parking brake (not emergency brake) is a mechanical item that does fail, being in gear is a backup for when this happens. I have seen it too many times and is very dangerous, ask my neighbor who was run over while walking with her infant from a runaway. It is a safety precaution that should always be taken.

according to specs, it will go down 1.5" in the front and if I'm correct and 1.3" in the rear.

I see. So if you add up all four corners, then it would be a "few inches." LOL

Have you installed the springs yet? I am going to do mine this weekend...I hope.

you will probably install them before I do, I'm waiting on confirmation on one of my peoples that's going to do it. I want to get new rotors, upgrade brake pads, and get stainless steel brake lines, and of course install the springs all at once, but the guys haven't called me back for the price quote.

OR.....

I'm also waiting on my teams captain to let me know when we can do it ourselves, like that I would save some labor money, and spend more on extra parts and little things for my baby.

Tell you what thought.

I purchased the s600 grill it should arrive sometime this week

the grill lookds pretty sick. I have had mine for a while. The finish is kind of coming off. Luckly for me, I can just black it out with some strap paint and it will look fine with my blacked out head lights and everything else.

Car is coming a long very nicely
