2.3s arent good for swaps to start off with. Radiator support doesnt fit an I6 and the motor mounts dont match I6s either. The hassle is not worth it when you could just pick up a 2.6 and swap in a 3.0 M103 which bolts up to everything, or if you are up for more power and know what your doing under the hood swap in a 3.2 M104 or AMG 3.6 M104 which requires more work and a lot of wiring for the swap. The M104 and M103s also bolt up to the 5-speed getrag tranny out of a 16V cossie (which I believe you are reffering to when saying 717.404 tranny). Also if your looking for power dont forget about the diff. A NAm or even better a euro 16V diff should be a must for doing any swap to a 190. Dont mean to be quick to judge but your grammar seems that you are young and arent too experienced.

Do you have the getrag tranny, pedal assembly, linkages, and driveshaft already?

I know about the rad mounts and its already moved & sitting in its new location. But this is the 1st time I heard about the engine mounts not fitting. What do I have to do to the mounts to get where do they have to be ? Getting a 2.6 is out the question. My W201 2.3 has HUGE sentimental value that's why I want to stuff a big engine into a small car & still keep it in sleeper mode. I've been askin tech in my town & I've been gettin different answers some say yes it can be done & some say no, that's why I'm on the computer & my cel asking questions (lol) The clutch pedal is installed it jus needs to be connected to the brake res. & the slave on the tranny. I also have the M104(C36), 717.404, drive shaft, diff, fuel pump & computers. Plz tell me if I missed something I don't have a harness (how many would I need) Your positive input is greatly needed......................If you think 31 is young then I guess I am. Grammar???? I didn't know I was in school! I thought I finished my mechanical engineer degree & my motorcycle tech program. I was driving wen I asked tha question like I am now. Next time I turn in a report, I'll make sure I do a spell & grammar check lmfao

driving and typing is dangerous. Got hit by someone texting doing 50 in my first cossie. Does make for the grammar though haha. You should check out 190Rev.net as this forums pretty dead and the M104 swap has been done plenty of times so theres some good stuff youll find searching on there. My friend is swapping the 3.6 AMG M104 in a 2.6 right now and its being more of a hassle than first thought with the wiring. It can be done, just starting with a 2.3 is gonna make it even more tough because of the motor mounts positions.
So you already have the 3.6L AMG M104, driveshaft, getrag tranny, ect and didnt know if they would bolt up or fit before finding out if they would? You will need the wiring harness if you dont have that. You staying with the stock C36 ECU or going aftermarket? Also what diff do you have?

Well I knew that the tranny will bolt up to the engine & I would need a computer with it & the drive shaft is a bit longer due to the manual tranny. Right now I have a stock 1, any suggestions on witch computer I should use? Is that the stand alone I'm hearing about? Keep in mind I'm adding a turbo l8r on I have a T66. I have another question its about wheels. I have 17" all around just the rear tires (not rim) are wider. I jus want to know what's the biggest & widest wheel that could be used. I have my winter wheels on (185 60 15) & my front 1s rub & I've seen pix of 190's with out fender flairs with really wide & big wheels. Can you please tell me what's the measurements of the front & rear rims & what size tires would be used. I know the rear can be bigger, my front rims are 17x8 wrapped in 205 40 17 dunlop FM901's (I put that **** on everything!!!! Lol). Big brakes will be added once I get the wheel size I like I also want the rear to have deep dish so if you know the offset that would be great aswell
Thankx Mann!!!!

all depends on how low the car is. I run 205/40s and 215/40s in the back on 7.5/8.5 17s, and on the other 16v 195/45s all around on 7"wide 16s.

Thanks a lot mann! How low did you drop your cars? & what's the widest rear tire you've seen & still fits inside the wheel well. Do you know the offset of your rims?,I'm trying to get my wheels close to the same size as the W204. With the C36 I will have more than enough power to spin them

I recall FLYNAVY over on the Rev dropped a m117 (5.0-5.6L v8) into his 190...lots of custom work done.
