1991 e190 2.6 battery and alternator ?
my battery went bad in my 1991 e190 with a 2.6 and i was wondering why the parts store want 160.00 dollars for one they said it need a vent hose or something why cant i just use a normal 600 cca battery and i am looking for a used alternator also the bearings in mine are going bad thank you

That price seems to be what I'm finding on batteries as well.
As for the alternator....You can get one from a local junkyard, I'd recommend replacing the voltage regulator or at least inspecting it before installing the alternator. Alternatively the m103 can fit a larger more powerful alternator. Its a 143amp unit that was in the 90's v8 S-Class...I believe the number AL0162X..which is around $170 from places like Advanced Auto..comes with lifetime warranty...
