190E running a bit hot at idle/slow speed - oil wt?
A few months ago I had the water pump & thermostat replaced as it was leaking. Even with this replacement when the weather gets warm as it did in Ohio this past week the 190 gets upwards of 100C when sitting still for a while.
I was told to run a very light weight oil to help quickly lube the cam towers at start up, especially during the cold Ohio winters.
At idle I noticed my oil pressure gets really low, almost to zero. Its been 2K since I changed the oil and do this on a regular basis around 2.5K-3K miles.
I wonder if I should go to a heavier or perhaps synthentic oil as I think some of heat could be related to this factor.
It could also be the radiator needs cleaned out so any steer there welcome!
I just find it unusual that it heats up to 100C sitting still...its either the fluid flow can't keep up with the heat or there is too much heat being generated somehow.
Only has started to happen in the last 5 years...

I live with it
I'll make another post asking about radiator flush treatments...
