kinda an intro from a new/old member

joined this forum in like 2009, never really posted then i forgot my password lol.
since then, ive been busy. bought a few cars..heres a little timeline since im really bored right now.
november 2009:
bought my first 190e. 1987 2.3 5spd.

had a rare little amg wing so i slapped it on.

then glass euros.

then the day after i got a new clutch in it, some a-hole at school poured a ton of sugar in my gas tank and destroyed my motor. parked the car, and its been rotting away ever since. needs too much to make it roadworthy again, keeping it mainly for the manual swap parts...
slipped into a dark time and bought a bmw..what a nightmare.
wont hurt your eyes too much with that..

but i wanted back into the 190 game. needed a benz so bad..
so i started searching for that perfect 16v. i looked and looked and almost bought several cars but something always ended up happening.
just when i thought i should throw in the towel and stop looking for a cossie...
i did.
and i bought this:

had it shipped from cali to pittsburgh!

1993 sportline
wald kit, amg gen 2 front bumper (wald one was destroyed by a po)
wald D21 wheels
c36 motor swap
16v getrag tranny
16v 3:27 rear end
500e front sway bar, evoII rear

(dont mind the dates didnt set them)
i was using the bmw as a dd and took the wald out on nice days and stuff. but i was getting really sick of the bimmer (who wouldnt be?)
so i put it up for sale, because i found a local 190e 2.6 5spd i really wanted.
well i didnt get that. a dude from alabama offered me a trade for this beauty:

1993 sportline LE
stock motor
CAI
500e front, evoII rear sway bars
full 16v body kit
amg spoiler from my old 190e went on

then got a chrome grill surround and hand sanded/polished the strips back to chrome

hell yeah!
thats about it for right now. i got some big plans for the LE. in the process of purchasing a set of borbet type A's for it, lowering it some more, etc etc.
heres some random pics for viewing pleasure.

Beautiful cars, does the wald kitted 190 have M104 in it? cant tell easily but looks like it does vaguely in that pic with the bonnet up.

Funny about these cars, like you i got hooked on them, my first car was an anthracite gray 190E 2.6 then went through the jap phase and craved one of these again.

sorry C36 swap, just read it...awesome! Have been compiling parts for my 190 for a long time to do the same thing. Have the engine and most other parts, currently need a gearbox, flywheel, clutch and pedal box (fingers crossed i may have got that part sorted now). Do u have any videos or other detailed pics?? would love to see what it looks like. Not much info on these conversions. Last question, performance wise what would u say about it? Any other common cars u could compare it to?

Cheers!!

yup, c36. you will also need a 3.2 valve cover and crossover box in order to clear the hood of the 190.

yeah, the flywheel will be the most difficult item to find, i believe you will need a m103 single mass flywheel. its mated to a 16v getrag tranny and 16 3:27 rear end.
i have all the stuff for a manual swap on my 2.6 except the flywheel currently, the tranny, pedal assembly, slave and master cyl, and all that fun stuff. just need the stupid flywheel so i can get it done!
performance wise? its an animal. it has so much torque with the manual box its nuts. handles like its on rails, and its a little tail happy haha. havent got a chance to completely push it to its limits, never got it above 140MPH. but 0-60 in under 5 seconds.

Your 190s are what I wish I could find near where I live. All that pop up around here are beaters. I am guessing these cost quite a bit too? The crap ones I find people seem to think they are something special so they do not go for anything less than 6k. =\
