New 190e owner couple of questions

Hey whats going on, i recently purchased a 1984 190e of craigslist. I love the car already but there is a couple things that i would like to try and fix.

For some reason whenever i fully open up the trunk water leaks in from the top by the light? I can't seem to find out where the water is coming in from?

Also, is there anywhere to purchase new seat foam for the front and passenger, mine are completely shot.

Thanks for the help in advance

Check the trunk lid black handle if it is loose, it may be leaking in from the screws.

Cushion, try an apholstry shop

Thanks for the reply, the car is in the shop right now. It needed new motor and tranny mounts & spark plugs. I will be getting it back on wednesday, along with some 17" amg wheels. So i am super excited. I also need to get new plastic a/c vents. most of mine are shot and do not stay in place, i also need the plastic center piece that holds that two a/c vents and 3 switches in the middle. Where can i purchase these parts?

I also would like to lower the vehicle but i am not sure of what exactly i would need besides for new springs.

Not sure where to get those parts, maybe salvage, check ebay.

As far as lowering, shorter springs or remove the spacer. But doing so you will need to align the car as well.

I want to paint the inside of my car grille black, how do i get the insert out i see there are three screws holding the grille in, do i just snap the insert out after the screws are off? Can anyone let me know how to exactly do this so i don't wind up breaking the plastic

Alright so i got off the two screws on the top, removed the two clips, the bottom screw from the chrome part of the grill and the top bolt holding on the blue mb emblem, and this insert still won't come out. I see two more clips on the top but they will not budge for ****.How does this thing come out?

you gotta have the grill off the car. in order to remove the grill:
remove the two outside screws.
the grill will seem loose but not come out, put the screw back in the bottom of the grill lol
now push UP on the grill. it will pop out of the clips. you will have to use some force to get it out, especially if it still has the original grill gasket lol
now once you have the grill off, take that bottom screw back out. now there will be some clips holding the inner piece in. remove those.
hope that helped!

Paint seems to be a big problem on the silver, gold, and other light colored w201 and w124s it seems. They all get that scratching/cracking in them, which I assume leads the the clear coat pealing?
