coolant spurting out from somewhere under the airfilter housing?
Driving along with a particularly heavy load when all of the sudden lots and lots of steam. Popped the hood and saw that coolant was shooting out from somewhere unseen. Coolant was spraying the firewall. It looked like it was leaking being shot out from underneath the air filter housing or the back of the engine. Definitely wasn't leaking from the radiator nor front radiator hoses, thermostat nor water pump.
Previously the car would get hot in terrible bay area traffic, the fan would come on, the temp would drop and the cycle would repeat like that.
Any ideas? I don't want to scrap the car because it's got a super rare 5speed and is really pretty nice to drive.
