What is the difference between the Evolution I and the Evo II?

502 each of the Evo and Evo II were built by Mercedes (Not AMG!)
All of them were LHD and came from the factory in the "blauschwartz" metallic finish.
Despite using 2.5-16 engines, they were very different powerplants, with different compression ratios, different bearings, and other bits.
The bodywork on the Evo is more closely related to the standard 2.5-16, than the Evo II. Except for the front bumper and wheel arches, they share the same basic body kit. The Evo II has a different front and rear bumper shell, has the rear window spoiler and the bi-level tuned wing.
