temp C to F ?

i'm asking this for my dad who just got a 1985 190E ......

is it possible to change the temp display near the gauge cluster from Celcius to Fahrenheit? if so, how?

Although there probably is a circuit on the microchip/IC for the LCD, I have looked at the chip specs and couldn't find a jumper. Later North American models, probably the '92 or '93 had the LCD in Farenheit, along with the wheel on the climate control, but they might have changed the sensor leads as well, from the two prong to the three prong. Your best bet is to find a later model wreck at a recycler yard and get the LCD and the license plate sensor unit and replace the whole thing.

thanks. i figured it was more of a matter of 'hold this button, while pressing this one.....".

he paid $1700 for the car, so i don't know if he wants to go to all that trouble for something so minor. he has some other interior isssues that are probably more important that he wants to deal with first, but maybe if it bugs him enough he'll get around to it. really nice car for the money, though!

Mine is also in Celsius. I don't mind too much though. The temperature is never really that accurate anyways.
