Drivebelt tension

I've just replaced the drive belt on my 93 190E 2.3. However, I wasn't sure if I tightened it enough because the tensioner does not have a "pointer." According to Haynes, there is a "single thick mark and cast triangle on the tensioner scale," and there is a "tensioner pointer." I see the mark and scale, but I don't see a pointer. Haynes says I am suppose to line up the pointer to the mark, and that's when the belt is in proper tension. This afternoon, I tightened the belt by guestimation, but I don't know if it's too tight, not tight enought, or perfect. What should I do? I guess the pointer must have fallen off. I would appreciate if someone can send me a picture of the pointer so that I can use it to mark my own pointer. Thanks
