Clutch Job!
Hello, this is my first post here! I drive a 1985 190e 2.3 16, 18 years old, and live in Washington state. I haven't had this car too long, and am about to start a clutch change. My helms manual doesn't seem to apply much to the 16v cars, I need some clarification.
1. Does the intake manifold have to come out to remove the starter? My observations make me think that this is a possibility.
1.5. If not, must I remove the oil filter's canister?
2. Will the engine have to be shifted forward in order to access the bolts on the top of the bell housing? I can barely get an open ended wrench on to them, I dont think I will be able to apply any torque.
3. Roughly how much does the transmission weigh?
Anything else you think may help me with this would be great, I'm kinda going by feel right now. Thanks a ton!
